The tour starts from the beautiful Sirmione, a town that never ceases to amaze its visitors thanks to the wonderful landscapes, the Roman villa, the medieval castle, the Venetian dwellings and the buildings that dominate the city. More internally, you will discover hidden treasures such as the village of Castellaro Lagusello and Borghetto where you will have the opportunity to learn about the local gastronomy, famous in particular for the unmistakable tortellini of Valeggio and the excellent wines famous all over the world.
The first part of the tour is in Sirmione where you will learn about the 200-year-old history. Beautiful views of Lake Garda in its entirety and the surrounding mountains. You will also visit a famous local winery where you will taste certified quality wine.
Inserted among the most beautiful villages in Italy, Borghetto, located near Valeggio sul Mincio and Lake Garda, a charming village of mills, is so picturesque that it does not seem real, but painted as a backdrop for a theatrical scene: a fist of houses, surrounded by medieval fortifications, which for centuries have coexisted with water and have always been a reason for existence, fortune and fame. The fortune of Borghetto was always to be one of the very few fords on the Mincio, an obligatory point of passage, even more so than the nearby Peschiera, for those passing from the Veneto lands towards the south or west, and vice versa.
The famous Visconti bridge, a mammoth fortification built by Gian Galeazzo Visconti in 1393 to defend against the attacks of enemy armies, stands in the background of the city.
Borghetto is also known for its tortellini, which are distinguished by their very thin pastry. They are traditionally served with broth. You will visit a pasta factory where you will observe the handmade production of this type of pasta.
The tour will continue in Castellaro, of which legends and mysteries will be told.
